Surrounded by cows, lakes and passion - enjoy Svedjan's freshly prepared products.
Immediately after our arrival in Sweden, we met Pär and Johanna, two passionate dairy farmers with their small cheese dairy, Svedjan Ost (ost is the swedish word for cheese). They patiently showed us around their farm and chatted with Adrian, a trained cheesemaker, about the possibilities of Swedish cheese production and the market. We immediately felt welcome and at ease.
In the summer, their son, owner of the Stockholm bakery Svedjan Bageri, runs a café with his team in an old barn on Pär and Johanna's farm. The homemade bread, butter, and cheese are incredibly delicious, and the location right on Lake Storkågeträsket, next to grazing cows, is simply idyllic. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside. Of course, there's also a selection of lovingly prepared pastries. A highly recommended stop on your trip. Opening hours are limited, so it's advisable to check online beforehand.
