On this excursion, you'll park your bicycle at the take-out point of your route, near the bridge between Kusfors and Petiknäs, before starting your canoe trip. From there, you'll drive to the Svansele Nature Reserve, where the put-in point below the rapids of the Svansele Dam on the Petikån River marks the beginning of your canoe tour. Your 20 km journey will take you through a winding, pristine landscape – ideal for a relaxing paddle amidst unspoiled nature. You're unlikely to encounter anyone on this trip, but you won't be completely alone – mosquitoes will also be present. You might even spot a beaver. The take-out point is on the left, just after the railway bridge and before the road bridge. Your arms might be a little tired by now, but your legs will still be fresh. Hop on your bicycle and cycle back to your car in Svansele via Kusfors and Gumboda. After 15 km, you'll reach your destination for the day.
This pristine natural area has its own rules. Depending on the water level, you may need to lift your canoe over an obstacle or push it under a low-hanging tree.
