Climb to the summit of Västerbotten and be impressed by 29 wind turbines

The highest point in Västerbotten (550 m a.s.l.) is home to the Åmliden observation tower, offering a panoramic view of seemingly endless forests dotted with 29 wind turbines.
The summit can be reached on foot via a dirt track/path. The trail is somewhat steep in places and can be boggy depending on the season and weather, but the view of the typical North Swedish landscape more than compensates for the effort and the subsequent cleaning of your shoes. Just before the tower, there is a cabin with barbecue facilities on the left side of the path.
Vehicles must be parked in a gravel parking area. The road leading there is a bit uneven in places, but passable. Turn right before the Hotel Källan and follow the forest track to the gravel parking area.
