Norakammen – an adventure route with potential surprises

This tour is aimed at sporty, experienced cyclists. The first 6 km are on a gravel road with the option of visiting the former Udden-Gruvan coal mine. Between the old mine and the onward route to the Kedträsket barbecue area, there is a short, approximately 20-meter-long shortcut through the forest. Alternatively, you can cycle back 600 meters to the last intersection and continue along the gravel road. At the Kedträsket barbecue area, the Norakammensleden begins – a long-distance hiking trail through breathtaking scenery. The trail runs along a ridge, bordered by pristine, sun-drenched forests and idyllic lakes. During our exploration, we discovered bear droppings on the trail in two places. The forest path is mostly well-trodden but has occasional sections with fist-sized stones, roots, or loose sand. Most of the ascents and descents are easily manageable by bicycle; occasionally, you will need to push your bike for short sections. Three rivers are crossed via small, relatively narrow wooden bridges with railings. From Långträsk, the route continues 12 km northeast on a gravel road. The last 4 km inevitably run alongside the B370 highway (speed limit 100 km/h), making this tour unsuitable for families with small children. Although the route is passable with e-bikes, this is not recommended. The route runs partly off-road and in some sections there is no mobile phone reception.
