This circular tour starts right at our campsite. Follow the Skellefteälven River upstream, past small settlements, holiday homes, natural riverbanks, and unspoiled nature, until you reach its confluence with the Malån River. Explore the river's small bays and bends. However, be sure to keep a safe distance from the dam, as hydraulic rollers and suction can be life-threatening for canoeists. There is a peninsula with a fire pit at the mouth of the Malån River.
The Skellefteälven has several shallow sections that can be challenging for canoeists depending on the water level. Therefore, pay close attention to sandbars and rocky outcrops. Keep in mind that the current and wind strength will affect the effort and time required for the return trip.
